One Stop Service achievements


The One Stop Service has been awarded seven major external awards:-

Charter Mark for Excellence in the Provision of Public Service.

Institute of Public Relations in 1995 for the One Stop Shop Video British Association of Editing in Industry in 1995 for the One Stop Shop Video.

North West London Training and Enterprise Council awarded the One Stop Shop for successful completion of the "Skills for Small Business Programme" in 1996.

Investors in People in 1996, 1999, 2002.

Government Computing Award for Innovation in Electronic Government - for 'LASER' the Customer Tracking in Lotus Notes in 1997.

BT Award for Innovation in Electronic Commerce Finalist 1997.

Shortlisted for Customer Services Team of the Year in the Local Government Chronicle Awards 2001 and highly commended.

Nominated for Public Servant of the year Award 2006 in the category for Local Government.

We have had enquiries and visits from over 200 other local authorities who look to Brent as 'Best Practice'. The expansion of our call centre was used as an example of Best Practice by the Right Honourable Ian McCartney MP to launch the Governments 'Call Centre Guidelines' in 1999.
