Landlord and tenant disputes

Disputes can arise between landlords and tenants regarding a number of issues such as repairs, rent arrears, refunds of deposits and anti social behaviour.

It is often possible to resolve a dispute through mediation.

If a landlord and tenant dispute has arisen it is important that both parties first seek advice on their legal rights and responsibilities so that they can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Often mediation from a third party can help resolve the dispute and a number of agencies in Brent may be able to assist.

We aim to try to resolve disputes between private landlords and their tenants. Contact 020 8937 2772 for help and advice.

If you are a council tenant and you are in dispute with the council regarding a tenancy issue there are a number of independent organisations you can contact for advice.

Brent Citizens Advice Bureau and Brent Community Law Centre offer advice on a range of housing issues and may be able to assist or represent you.
