Black History Month

Brent Council proudly welcomes you to Black History Month 2009, with events and activities for all ages throughout October in all Brent Council libraries and Brent Museum.

Listen to fascinating authors and storytellers, trace your family tree, meet celebrities like Clive Lloyd and Gillian Joseph, create African figurines and learn about black people in Roman times in Britain.

Floella Benjamin will be VIP guest at a special celebration on 23 October, with music by saxophonist Justin, hip hop rap artist Breis, African / Caribbean dancing with Latino influences, a fashion show and African-Caribbean cuisine.

Black History Month is just one in a series of diverse and exciting programmes throughout the year.
