Skills for Life - English and Maths

For English speakers who wish to improve their skills.

We offer courses and qualifications at all levels from beginners to
Level 2.

Our classes can help you to:

    Increase your confidence

BASIC ENGLISH
ENTRY LEVEL CERTIFICATES: Literacy
These courses will increase your confidence and your skills in basic English for everyday life. You will practise skills such as reading for information, writing letters, filling in forms and much more. Gaining a certificate will help you to progress to higher-level courses.
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH LEVEL 1
This course teaches reading for information, spelling, punctuation and grammar, and leads to a nationally recognised qualification enabling you to progress to Level 2.
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH LEVEL 2
Moving on from Level 1, this course develops advanced skills in reading for information, spelling, punctuation and grammar, and leads to a nationally recognised qualification enabling you to progress to GCSE and employment opportunities.

BASIC MATHS
ENTRY LEVEL CERTIFICATES: Numeracy
These courses will increase your confidence and skills in basic Maths for everyday life. You will practise addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Gaining a certificate will help you to progress to higher courses
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN NUMERACY LEVEL 1
This course teaches fractions, decimals, percentages, statistics and area, and leads to a nationally recognised qualification enabling you to progress to Level 2.
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN NUMERACY LEVEL 2
(ADULT NUMERACY)
Moving on from Level 1, this course extends knowledge of topics studied at previous levels in addition to practising skills such as problem-solving and interpreting data.
