Shopping

In addition to all the chain stores and supermarkets you would find in the high streets of any busy borough, Brent also has a few surprises.

Ealing Road
Ealing Road in Wembley is famous as a centre of Asian life in London. Its restaurants, jewellery quarter and shops selling saris, shoes, clothing and traditional kitchenware attract people from all over the country and particularly from Britain's Gujarati community.

Brent is also home to one the country's first IKEA stores and people travel from miles around to visit for home furnishings. The store was completely refurbished in 2006 and has extended opening hours to midnight from Mon to Fri.
