Dangerous structures

We are responsible for dealing with dangerous buildings and structures. We must safeguard members of the public and investigate all reports of dangerous buildings and structures within the borough. We also advise the fire brigade on the structural condition of buildings.

In most cases, we can arrange for the owners to undertake necessary repair work. In an emergency, immediate action may be needed to make a building or structure temporarily safe. It may be necessary to arrange for our own emergency contractors to undertake the work and to charge costs to the owners of the property.
