These documents and pages will assist you in choosing a suitable school for your child:

  This documents details hows the council ensures that access to education is secured quickly for all children who have no school place but for whom a place at a mainstream school or alternative provision is appropriate.

  The most recent tables detailing performances of primary and secondary schools in the borough.

• Choice Advice Service 
  This offers parents and carers impartial and independent advice about secondary school admissions, and helps you understand the process.

• Place allocation
  View how places were allocated in schools last year, and work out the likelihood of your child being offered a place in a particular school.

• Directgov 
  View Ofsted reports, performance data and contact details for schools. Please note the distance provided by Directgov uses straight line measurements and may not be in line with the admissions arrangements.

• Ofsted
  View inspection reports on individual schools and guidance related to school performance.

• Waiting lists
  The school that you apply to may be oversubscribed. In this situation the council will offer to put your child's name on their waiting list.
  
  Please note that:

- your place on the waiting list is determined by the admissions criteria

- if a place becomes free, whomever meets the criteria most closely will be offered it

- length of time spent on the waiting list will not give you priority over other applicants.

• Special Educational Needs
  If your child has a statement of Special Educational Needs, you should contact the Special Educational Needs Assessment Service (SENAS).

• Change of address form for parents
  If you have applied for a school place and recently changed address, print out and complete this form and return to the school admissions team.
