Free school meals

Children whose parents receive certain benefits may be entitled to free school meals.

You must provide us with your National Insurance (NI) number or National Asylum Support Service (NASS) reference number and date of birth in order for us to check your eligibility with the Department for Education's Eligibility Checking Service (DfE ECS).

Proof of Child Benefit must be provided if this is your first application for free school meals.

Eligibility for free school meals will not be backdated, so ensure you apply before September 2011.
