Education consultations

The School Improvement Service manages and supports many of the services that Brent provides to schools. These include:

• inspection and advisory staff
  
• a music service
  
• the Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Project
  
• the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership
  
• the Field Studies Centre in Hampshire
  
• home education
• the Standing Advisory Committee on Religious Education (SACRE).

We write bids for additional funds from the government (the Standards Fund) and monitor how these funds are spent.

We analyse the results achieved by pupils in Brent schools and provide schools with comparative data.

We also report to councillors on the progress of schools and educational projects in Brent.
