Brent Council has teamed up with schools and other agencies to produce Atlas (.pdf, 229Kb), a comprehensive directory to help residents make the most of what is on offer throughout the borough and specifically in their local area.
Atlas provides information on a wide range of activities and support available for children and families in the five localities of: Harlesden (.pdf, 1219Kb), Kilburn (.pdf, 1078Kb), Kingsbury (.pdf, 538Kb), Wembley (.pdf, 1552Kb) and Willesden (.pdf, 767Kb).
In it you will find everything from nursery education, out of school activities and children's centres to libraries, leisure opportunities and employment support.
What are extended services?
The extended services detailed in the Atlas are open to the whole community. Schools may also provide services that are only accessible by their own students and their parents. Contact your child's school for more information.
Childcare
High quality childcare for primary age pupils is provided before and after school, within a safe environment for secondary age pupils after school.
Out of school activities
Varied activities for young people are offered such as homework clubs, sport and music tuition, dance, drama, arts and crafts and special interest clubs.
Parenting support
This includes information sessions for parents at key transition points, parenting programmes and sessions to allow children to learn with their parents.
Swift and easy access to a wide range of services
Support is provided at an early stage for children and young people with additional needs including behavioural, emotional or health needs, as well as other difficulties.
Community access to school facilities
This allows greater community use of school facilities such as ICT suites, sports and arts equipment and adult learning opportunities.
