The Brent Community Champions Awards are organised by Brent Council and held every year to honour those who make a difference to others in the borough.
They are presented in May at the Annual Meeting of Brent Council by the outgoing Mayor of Brent. Nominations for the awards open on January 1 each year and close at the beginning of the March.
The awards are a chance for residents in Brent to nominate those who they feel have done outstanding work on behalf of others.
Nominations are received for people who have volunteered for organisations, or done work, such as:
Winners in previous years have included a carer, conservationist, classical Indian musician, Sea Cadet organiser, a retired postmaster and a park campaigner.
Those who do not live in Brent, but who volunteer in the borough can be nominated.
