Blue badge scheme of parking

A Blue Badge displayed in a car window

The blue badge scheme provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers.

The scheme allows blue badge holders to park close to where they need to go.

Residents displaying a blue badge on their dashboard may park on single/double yellow line or free in residential parking areas, without time limit, for up to three hours as long as there is no loading ban in force. The scheme does not apply to off-street parking.
