Occupational therapy

If due to illness, disability, accident or frailty causes you or someone you know to have difficulties in carrying out everyday activities at home then Brent occupational therapy service may be able to help.

Our team of qualified occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants visit and assess people of all ages in their own homes. We undertake a needs assessment to establish the difficulties that the individual is experiencing and then prepare a care plan to identify ways in which their needs can be addressed.

Problems that we can look to address are as follows:

• moving around inside the home i.e.getting to the bedroom, bathroom toilet, kitchen and living room
• managing to sit down and stand up from a chair or toilet
• managing to get in and out of bed and the bath
• washing and dressing
• bathing
• preparing a meal or drink
• managing front door steps and getting into the house or home
