Out of hours social care services support

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an emergency service for all client groups in Brent on:

  • weekdays: Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 8.30am
  • weekends: from Friday 5pm to 8.30am Monday morning
  • bank holidays: from 9am to 8.30am.

How to contact the emergency duty team
To contact the emergency duty social worker telephone:

020 8863 5250.

The operator will answer the phone and take information and your contact details and pass this to the duty social worker who will call you back.

It is important to note that the team does not provide the full range of services that are available during the working day.

The out of hours service is specifically for situations that are in the nature of an emergency or have an element of urgent distress. Its aim is to ensure that we meet the council's statutory responsibilities under mental health, children and adult community care legislation.

The team offers to help immediately where the need is such that you cannot reasonably be expected to wait for help until the next working day when you would be able to access Brent services.
