Everyone wants to remain fit and healthy. Unfortunately, at some times in our lives all of us will have the odd period when we aren’t feeling our best. In

fact having the odd cold or sprain is totally normal - we know we’ll soon recover and be back to normal within a few days.

  • But what if things don’t sort themselves out quickly?
  • What if you have symptoms you don’t recognise?
  • How do you cope if you feel upset and tearful all of the time?
The first thing you must do is talk to someone. Most health issues whether they are physical or mental can be sorted out quickly - but you need to make the first step and speak to someone. If you don’t think you can approach your GP, can’t arrange an appointment because you are scared, or you want someone to go with you, there are lots of people who will help you. Addictions
If you, a friend or member of your family is addicted to drugs, alcohol or other substances, Connexions can help you know how to cope. We know how difficult it can be living with an addiction, so please call in for some help and support.

It’s always a good idea to try speaking to your family or a close friend about any health issues first.
