September 09: New Directgov website.
Directgov has launched What's Next? a new online resource aimed at young people leaving education and their parents. The website offers guidance on a range of topics relevant to young people looking at their options after finishing education. It covers higher and further education, training, financial support as well as practical advice for those looking for jobs. http://whatsnext.direct.gov.uk/
August 09: vinspired National Awards
The vinspired national awards 2009 are to enable exceptional young volunteers to achieve the recognition they deserve. The awards are open for nominations until the 31st August and anyone can nominate a young volunteer aged between 16- 25 and living in England for an award. http://www.vinspired.com/awards/national-awards
August 09: The Philip Lawrence Awards.

July 09: vTalentYear - Recruiting Young People
Join vtalentyear and you could gain new skills, have a great experience and do something really worthwhile!
Brent Council is one of the first local authorities selected by v to launch a national full-time volunteering programme for 16-25 year olds called vtalentyear.
The exciting placements with Brent’s Children and Families department include Children’s Centres, respite care for children and young people with disabilities, and the Wembley Study Centre.
The latest date that volunteers will be able to join this year’s programme is Friday 28 August 2009 so get in touch now to join this exciting programme and help make a difference to young people's lives!
