Apart from support for integration the e-Government Register website does not hold data about suppliers of consultancy services. This is for the following reasons :-

1. There are a large number of suppliers of consultancy services, a large variety in the types of consultancy available and potentially a very large number of usages by local authorities. Currently we do not have the resources to maintain this volume of data to an adequate level of accuracy.

2. The usage of a software or hardware solution implies a degree of approval of these systems by the relevant local authority. However this is not necessarily true for the usage of consultants where the period of engagement may be very short and there is no means of knowing how successful the engagement was.

At present we do hold data about consultancy services which are associated with integration because this is an area which is critical to successful e-Government and where specific solutions often require external resources. At some point in the future when examples of integration are more common then holding information about consultants in this area will be reviewed and possibly ceased.
