IDeA guidance:To fulfil this requirement councils will need to use a content management system, dedicated minutes and agendas system or other appropriate technology to maintain a list of minutes, agendas and reports from council meetings. The information should be published on the website at the same time as paper versions – i.e.: before the meeting takes place. The system should be easy to use internally by staff updating the content and should be similarly easy to understand by members of the public accessing the system from outside the council.

The system should have safeguards in place to ensure private reports do not appear on the public website – although many councils will want to make these notes available internally for appropriate staff.

The meetings diary should be a simple list of dates and times of meetings (probably with links to agendas as appropriate) kept up to date – with daily updates if required.
