The health risks of dog and animal mess
Toxocara is a roundworm found whose eggs live in dog mess. If children come in contact with the eggs they can cause an upset stomach, sore throat, asthma and in rare cases, blindness. The eggs can stay alive in the soil for many years.
To reduce the chances of this happening dog owners should regularly de-worm their dogs and safely dispose of dog mess in a litter bin or household waste bin.
