We are responsible for the preparation, publication and maintenance of the Electoral Register. This is the list of people eligible to vote in elections in the borough. To be able to register you must be 17 years or older and a UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, British Overseas Territory or European Union citizen.
The council must by law update this list on a yearly basis in what is known as the annual registration canvass of the electorate. Every year, around the beginning of August, Brent Council sends out forms to all households within the borough. A new version of the register is then published on the of 1 December.
We also update the register each month between January and September. This is known as rolling registration.
Fill in a rolling registration application form and send it to us. You can also collect forms from our One Stop Service offices or request them by calling us.
