27/10/2008: Green light for Wembley cinema plans
Brent Council's planning committee has given the go ahead for a 10 screen cinema, a designer outlet store, homes with underground parking and open spaces, to be built on land owned by Quintain Estates & Development plc surrounding Wembley Stadium.
Cllr Paul Lorber, Leader of Brent Council, said: "The plans for a multi screen cinema and retail outlet featured within this development will deliver the first of many new leisure and retail facilities in Wembley for the local community and the thousands of visitors coming to events at Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena."
Construction will start on the site shortly and it is envisaged that the development, including the shopping and cinema will open towards the end of 2010.
