Do you want to have a say in what books, films and music your local library stocks?
Brent Council is looking for people to help it design an area and collection in the new Harlesden Library and Learning Centre dedicated solely to black culture.
As a result of a successful lottery bid, Harlesden library is to be transformed into a new 21st century library and learning centre. Local people have a say in the project and are helping decide how they access services.
The council is looking for ten people from the black community to share their expertise and ideas about the content of the black interest collection, to meet with the architects to discuss its design and to help market it.

The aim is to recruit members by 10 August with a first meeting on 21 August.
A space dedicated to black culture with multi format resources was one of a number of priorities identified during consultation with residents and Harlesden community groups.
Each month different members of the community will have the opportunity to have their say on how the library develops.
