: Fun run or walk in Fryent Country Park

If watching the Olympics has inspired you to get active, why not take part in the Brent Fun Run and Walk held in the lush fields of Fryent Country Park, Wembley, on Sunday September 21.

The Brent Council event is the first of its kind to be held in this park and will cater for the complete beginner or social walker, to your regular runner.

Families are encouraged to enter and they can choose to run or walk the grass route which has fantastic views of Wembley Stadium over the tree tops.

You can join the fun run on your own or meet friends, work colleagues, or school friends. Spectators are also welcome at the event to cheer you on.

Councillor Irwin Van Colle, Lead Member for Environment, Planning and Culture, said; "This is a great event that is suitable for anyone who wants to enjoy doing physical activity in the fresh air and rolling fields usually only found in the country.

"Walking and running are both good for your health and can be part of the recommended three lots of 30 minutes exercise each week."

Those who take part in the run or walk can then enjoy the Brent Countryside Day which will take place afterwards in Fryent Country Park from 12pm.
