: Brent Private Housing Forum

Brent Private Housing Forum is giving residents the opportunity to find out how Brent Council is addressing homelessness and improving temporary accommodation conditions when it meets on Tuesday, September 16.

 

The forum, which is chaired by Councillor Harshadbhai B Patel, is open to everyone involved in private sector housing in the borough such as landlords, tenants, and homeowners.

 

The main items on the agenda for the September meeting, which will be addressed by senior officers from the authority, include:

 

  • Brent Council initiatives to prevent homelessness in the borough by Laurence Coaker, Head of the Private Housing Information Unit
  • a speaker from a housing association discussing how to maintain temporary accommodation standards
  • an update on the introduction of the Local Housing Allowance in April this year.

 

Officers from Private Housing Services, Private Housing Information Unit, StreetCare and Revenues and Benefits will also be on hand to provide information on their services to residents one-to-one. Residents will also have an opportunity to raise an issue of interest them during the meeting at the 'Soap Box' slot.

 

The forum will take place on Tuesday, 16 September, at Brent Town Hall, Committee Rooms 1-3 from 6.30-9pm.
