Scaffolding licences for skips hoarding and temporary crossings

StreetCare issues licences and permits for skips, hoarding, scaffolding and temporary crossings to builders and skip hire companies. Temporary crossings are used at construction sites and are built subject to Council approval.

To arrange a skip licence you should contact a builder or skip hire company. Skip licences are generally valid for 14 days/2 weeks but can be renewed. Once the site has been inspected by StreetCare we will issue a licence to the builder within three working days, if appropriate.

It is the responsibility of the builder or skip hire company to make sure they have a permit or licence for the skip if it is placed on the highway (this includes the pavement). It is your responsibility to check the company has a permit where necessary and that it is current.

For scaffolding / hoarding licences these will be within five working days of approval and receipt of fees.
