You would like us to stock books in the Singhalese language...

We listened:
A new selection of Singhalese books will now appear on the shelves at Kingsbury Library soon.

You would like children's areas to be separated from study areas.

We listened:
The new Neasden Library Plus has been designed to separate these areas.
                                         
You said:
You would like a copy of the Holy Bible to be made available in Large Print and CD format at Willesden Green Library.

We listened:

You said:
Why don't we have events focused on Christmas in Brent?

We listened:
Libraries, Arts and Heritage organised a programme of events over Christmas 2008, including a pantomime at Willesden Green Library.

 

You said:

You would like our ICT services to improve:

 

  • You would like the service to be more reliable
  • You would like access speeds to be faster
  • You would like the most up-to-date software
  • You have experienced problems using the children's PCs

 

We listened:

  • We are currently replacing elements of our computer hardware, including hard disks. This will enable all PCs to work much faster and and the new hardware will improve reliability
  • We have installed new monitoring and anti-virus software which will enable us to offer a much more reliable service, which is less prone to virus attacks. The new monitoring tools will also enable us to see when a PC has faults and roll out changes more quickly
  • All public PCs now have Microsoft Office 2007 installed and we will shortly upgrade to Internet Explorer version 7
  • We have utilised a new desktop application (SiteKiosk) which will make our catalogue and children's PCs more reliable
