National Year of Reading

Image of the national year of reading logo2008 is the National Year of Reading, so what better time to make friends with a good book?

And you don't have to be at home to lose yourself in literature. Why not try reading during your lunch break at work, on the tube, on the bus, in a park, in bed, at the station, in the bath, or even in the garden. It's never too late to try reading something different or somewhere different.

Performance poet Paul Lyalls is Brent's National Year of Reading Champion. He will launch an exciting range of events throughout the year to celebrate the passion of reading and great books. His opening session was a family event full of poetry and fun.

We are doing a survey to find out how many of you like to read, what you are currently reading and what your favourite book is. At the end of the National Year of Reading we'll reveal the results and announce what Brent's favourite read is.

Everyone who enters our survey will be entered into a prize draw.
