How to apply for a parking permit

You can renew your parking permit online.

For new permits, residents or businesses within Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) need to apply in person at one of our parking shops. You will be issued with a parking permit provided your property or address is not a part of a car-free development.

You will need to bring:

  • a completed application form. Download a printable version of the form or call one of the parking shops to have one posted to you
  • proof of business or resident status and address such as a council tax demand
  • your vehicle registration document
  • a separate completed application form for each vehicle.

Alternatively you can post the completed form with proof of status, your registration document and the required fee according to permit type (contact us for fee information 020 8937 4972) to one of the parking shops.

Conditions of issue of a permit
A resident and/or visitors' permit or a business permit will only be issued to persons:

  • whose usual address lies within the Controlled Parking Zone
  • who own, keep, or are the sole users of a passenger vehicle (length maximum of 5.25m) or goods carrying vehicle (height maximum of 3.2m, length maximum of 5 tonnes), the overall height of which does not exceed 2.3m, a motorcycle or an invalid carriage.

Non-residents are not eligible for a resident's permit
The parking shops will also deal with granting dispensations, for example, residents requiring the suspension of a parking space or the relaxation of a yellow line, due to building works or when they move home.
