Brent residents are being asked their views on the future of the borough's parks and open spaces. The council has revised and updated its strategy to plan up to the year 2015 and its draft conclusions are now open to inspection and consultation.
The previous Parks Strategy for Brent 2004 - 2009 ends this December. The new strategy will build on the outcomes of the previous plan to give strategic focus to everyone who has a role in providing, delivering, enabling and directing the provision of parks in Brent. The strategy covers public parks, including sports amenities, public open spaces, children's play areas in parks and allotments.
The overarching vision of the new draft is to provide good quality, attractive, enjoyable and accessible green space which meets the diverse needs of all Brent residents and visitors.
Drafting of the strategy has been led by Brent Council's Parks Service with input and consultation from related council services (notably Planning and Sports), a variety of partners and now Brent residents. The consultation period runs until 20 February 2010.
Paper copies of the draft strategy and the questionnaire are also available by contacting Aine Ryan on 07714 069 311 or by email at aine.ryan@brent.gov.uk
