Location
Wembley Hill Road, Wembley HA9 8AD
Details
The scheme consists of the construction of a new overbridge, marshalling area and the development of key plots with frontage around Wembley Stadium Station and Wembley Triangle to improve connections and regenerate the area between the Stadium, Quintain application site and Wembley Town Centre.
Planning status
On 25August 2004, Brent's Planning Committee approved the London Development Agency planning application (reference number 04/0379) after receiving further information to support the Environmental Statement for the Government Office for London and the Mayor of London had agreed with the proposal.
The planning permission was granted on 12 November 2004 following the conclusion of a Section 106 Agreement. The scheme also involved demolition of buildings and buying of properties. The Secretary of State's decision on the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) inquiry was received on 13 August and confirmed the CPO with modifications, notably the exclusion of the properties on the western side of Wembley Triangle.
Progress so far

Phase 1 of the work provided a new town square and a new pedestrian bridge link, "The White Horse Bridge", over Wembley Stadium Station with new stairs and lifts to platforms. Funded by the London Development Agency, it was completed in 2006.
The Allied Irish Bank, Network Housing and the station buildings were demolished to give way to the new bridge. The footbridge (made by Cleveland Bridge who also built the Stadium Arch) provides event day capacity of approximately 7,000 (an extra 1,000) people per hour plus improved access to Wembley Central and the town centre.
