Wembley is already a special part of London with a particular place in the nation's affections. Famous as the venue for England's historic 1966 World Cup win, it is home to a National Stadium that places Wembley at the very centre of our sporting endeavours.
The stadium's largely industrial area provides a rare opportunity for an ambitious regeneration programme within a strong and successful West London economy.
Our vision for Wembley (.pdf, 367Kb) was launched in November 2002.
Our vision for Wembley was about the Wembley of the future. It set out the component parts of our vision and how we, along with our partners and developers, could deliver the vision.
We are determined to make the most of this opportunity to transform Wembley into one of the most thriving parts of our capital city and a beacon of sporting and architectural excellence.
On 7 June 2007, Brent Council reinforced its commitment to the Wembley regeneration project at the 'Wembley - Vision to Reality' event, held at Wembley Stadium.
The event provided an update on the redevelopment programme underway in Wembley, and celebrated the progress made to date with the launch of Vision to Reality (.pdf, 4040Kb)
