Tell us about your change in circumstances

Once you have been awarded housing benefit and/or council tax benefit, you must report any relevant change in your circumstances promptly.

If you delay reporting a change in circumstances you may be paid too much benefit which you will have to pay back, or you may miss out on benefit you were otherwise entitled to.

 
What Changes must I report?                                        

You must report any changes to:

•  The income of any adult in your family
• The amount of savings you have over £6,000 for working age people and £10,000 for pensioners
• The number of people living in your house
• The amount of rent you have to pay

How do I report a change?                                            

You must contact us as soon as you know a change is going to happen, or as soon after it has happened as you become aware of it.
