Exceptions
Certain schools use their own term dates:
Occasional closure days
We have delegated to governing bodies the responsibility for
determining the dates, following the advice of the headteacher, who
will have consulted staff.
Local elections
Schools required to close for election purposes must use an
occasional day.
Inset days
Each school is responsible for organising five Inset days over
three terms and communicating this information to parents and all
stakeholders.
Schools have the discretion to nominate up to three Occasional
days, where the school will be closed for the purposes of religious
observance, however this is on the condition that the statutory 190
pupil days and five Inset days are maintained.
