Voting
The voting process is how the general public elects their political representatives at elections held at regular intervals. To vote at an election you first need to be registered. More information.

Who can vote
If you are a citizen of the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, a Commonwealth country or a British Overseas Territory, you will be able to vote in all elections in Brent. European Union citizens may vote at local elections and European parliamentary elections. To vote you must be 18 years old.

How to vote
There are currently three ways to vote. In person at a polling station, by post or by proxy (someone that you nominate fills in your ballot paper for you, whether in person or by post). It is possible to apply or cancel a postal vote application provided it is done at least a few weeks before any election.

For more information on any of the above, including how to apply for postal or proxy vote, please visit our about voting page.
