South Kilburn was largely developed between 1840 and 1875, and many of the older buildings date back to that time. The old swimming baths were erected in 1913 along with some commercial buildings.
Nowadays, the area comprises 3,360 dwellings of which approximately 2,300 are Council owned. The dwellings include a mixture of traditional street properties, Bison wall-frame and other kinds of more traditional housing. See 3D models of South Kilburn now and how it will look in the future.
South Kilburn is the last significant area in Brent not to have seen a substantial investment in its housing stock. In the following pages you will find information on the work and projects being undertaken by the team in conjunction with local community groups, tenants associations & residents.
We hope that through this website we will be able to reach a wider audience and encourage more and more local people to help create a better South Kilburn for everyone.

South Kilburn Masterplan

This document describes the Masterplan for South Kilburn. It is the result of two years work by a team of specialists working in partnership with the New Deals for Communities (NDC), community, Brent Council and other statutory bodies.
The Masterplan sets the physical framework for area-wide physical change. It includes proposals for new development and refurbishment, opportunities for transport improvements and enhancements to local streets and public spaces. It also proposes the means of delivery and demonstrates integration with other physical, social or economic initiatives.
