Brent SP provider forum provides a forum for all providers of housing with support for vulnerable people within Brent.
The forum acts as one of the principle consultation forums to assist in the development and implementation of the Supporting People strategy. It also gives the supported housing providers the opportunity to find out about and comment on other areas of Local Authority responsibility.
Quality and Performance framework
Performance and quality are very important to make sure that SP services offer services people need and offer good value for money. Quality focuses on ensuring that services are fit for their intended purpose. We work with providers to promote good performance and service improvements, using the Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) and a West London performance management framework. We also manage contracts and performance in SP services through these activities.
Finance payments
We have arrangements in place to ensure that our service providers receive their payments regularly and accurately. The finance process has been developed within the constraints of the council's financial regulations in consultation with providers.
Accreditation
As part of the process of managing support services, local authorities need to assure themselves that providers or potential providers of Supporting People services are suitable organisations. We accredit all providers that provide or wish to provide services and regularly check that they remain suitable organisations to provide SP services.
The West London accreditation policy statement (.doc, 109Kb)outlines the seven West London boroughs' common approach to the accreditation of Supporting People providers
Procurement plan and commissioning framework
The procurement plan and commissioning framework sit alongside our SP strategy. The commissioning framework state how SP services will be procured in Brent. The procurement plan is a timetable saying when services will be procured.
Theme groups
Theme groups are provider led groups. They share good practice on working with a broad range of client groups where they have common interest
Surveys/Reports
We carry out a range of surveys and reports in order to develop and improve our services.
Below are a list of the recent surveys carried out
Move On from hostels, supported housing and residential care
Brent Council has been working hard with providers to improve access to move on so that people can live as independently as possible. Move On means to move on from supported accommodation in to independent accommodation. Successful Move On can also mean moving in to higher supported services if appropriate to the needs of the individual.
