Green Zone leaders' advice
Thank you for becoming a Green Zone leader! We recognise that your involvement in the Green Zones scheme is voluntary and this commitment is valued by us. We will provide support to you at each stage of the Green Zones process.
Some useful information for becoming a Green Zone:
Door stepping advice
You may feel a bit nervous about the idea of knocking on your neighbours' doors for information, especially if you have never done anything like this before. Don't worry. People are usually very responsive and are inspired into action.
Take confidence from the fact that you live on the street and are probably a familiar face to your neighbours. They will almost certainly appreciate your help.
It may take between 10 and 15 minutes to work through the survey with your neighbour, or sometimes a little longer.
The evening and weekends are usually the best time to visit.
Your neighbour may raise other issues during your doorstep discussion. To help you if this situation arises, a list of useful contacts is provided at the bottom of the page.
