Fly-tip removal
Fly-tipping is a commonly used term for rubbish that is illegally deposited on land without permission from landowners or without a licence to allow the deposits of waste. Fly-tips often contain the following items:
- large domestic items (e.g. fridges and mattresses)
- general household waste
- garden refuse
- litter, refuse accumulation
- soil
- commercial waste (e.g. builders' rubble, tyres).
Fly-tips which are left by on the roadside, pavements and public land will be removed by Brent Council. It is the responsibility of the land owner to remove fly-tips from their own land and prevent further occurrences. Please contact us for further about fly-tips on private land on 020 8937 5252.
Fly-tipping is illegal and is an arrestable offence with a maximum of £50,000 fine or five years imprisonment under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. Any vehicles used in offences can be seized by the council and other authorities.
