We grit roads during cold weather conditions, particularly outside hospitals, bus stops and schools. Grit bins with salt are placed at locations throughout the borough.

We will grit:

• roads that carry the most traffic, for example red routes, shopping areas  and daily bus routes
• hilly areas and where water runs onto the road
• secondary routes, for example roads that lead to bus routes.

We do not provide a dedicated snow clearance service, as levels of snowfall are not high enough.
