No junk mail stickers

Junk mail posted through your front door contributes to the increase in waste either having to be recycled or going to landfill.  The average household in the UK receives 12 items of direct mail every 4 weeks which means that one million tonnes of junk mail are binned every year. Thirty-two per cent of junk mail is never opened and nearly all unaddressed hand delivered mail and flyers go straight into the bin.

Brent Council is encouraging residents to reduce their waste by using 'No Junk Mail' stickers. The sticker should prevent unwanted junk mail such as fast food flyers from being delivered to their houses by sticking it to the inside or outside of the door.
