Real cloth nappies
In the UK approximately eight million disposable nappies are thrown into landfill every day and it is estimated that disposable nappies will take up to 500 years to decompose. By using real nappies on your child you could reduce your household waste by half.
Modern cloth nappies have come a long way since the old style terry cloth nappies. They no longer involve pins and have been modernised to fasten with Velcro or poppers. Real nappies come in a range of fashionable styles and colours, making them and easy to use.
Real nappies are a great option because:
- they are better for your and your baby
- using real nappies could save you up to £500 on the cost of disposable nappies
- they are easy to use
- real nappies are made of natural fabrics instead of the plastic that is used to make disposable nappies
- real nappies do not contain the levels of chemicals that disposable nappies do in their bin for super absorbency
- they are good for the environment
- by using real nappies the amount of rubbish going to landfill sites will be reduced, lowering pollution levels. Each baby needs about 4,500 nappy changes from birth to potty training
- four and a half trees are chopped down to keep one baby in disposable nappies each year. Real nappies reduce the use of our natural resources.
