Recycling furniture

You can reduce the amount of furniture, such as wardrobes, tables, sofas or beds, disposed of in landfill by recycling or reusing them instead.
 
You can help by:  
  

  • taking unwanted furniture to the Reuse and Recycling Centre, Abbey Road. Please note: vans are not permitted on site.
  • contacting a local Furniture Reuse Organisation through the Furniture Reuse Network

  • looking at the 'Rag and Bone' website which is dedicated to finding unwanted furniture a new home
  • taking a look at Freecycle, which is a network that promotes the reuse or unwanted items
  • calling a local second-hand store or charity shop to see if they will accept furniture.
