We want over 72 per cent of our streets to continually meet Government cleaniness standards. Our streets are inspected once every three months by the organisation EnCams (which stands for Environmental Campaign) who provide the information below.
EnCams inspect and rate our roads by looking at the following environmental issues separately for the Mayor of London:
Previous results for litter and detritus
2004/05
Across the whole year 66per cent of our streets were classed as being acceptable level of cleaniness.
2005/06
Across the whole year 70 per cent of our streets were classed as being acceptable level of cleaniness. This 70 per cent is taken from an average from the following results-
Inspection 1 (covering April-July 2005): 68per cent streets were up to standard
Inspection 2 (covering August- December 2005): 75 per cent of streets were up to standard
Inspection 3 (covering January- March 2006): 68 per cent of streets were up to standard
2005/06's result put us 13th out of 28 other London boroughs that are also inspected by EnCams.
Previous results for graffiti
2005/06
Results show that 83 per cent of our streets meet government standards for being graffiti free.
This put us 23rd out 28 London boroughs that are inspected by EnCams.
Previous results for fly-posting
2005-06
Results show that 97 per cent of our streets are free from fly-posting.
This puts us 15th out of the 28 London Boroughs that are inspected by EnCams.
