Compulsory green box recycling

Using your green box to recycle is now compulsory in Brent.

Most people live in a green box collection zone and if this includes you, you must recycle or you could be fined up to £1000.

We have promoted recycling for many years. Thanks to your co-operation, we now recycle 30 per cent of our waste.

Let's work together to make Brent one of the best recycling boroughs in Britain.

This scheme is available to the majority of houses (and flats with less than eight properties)

How can I recycle?

If you haven't got a green box or would like to order another one free of charge please contact us

Contamination cards

You may receive a card if there is an item in your box or green organic bin that we cannot recycle as part of the Recycle from Home service.

Just check what is in your box and remove any items that cannot be recycled.

The recycling collectors have been given the cards to help residents use the recycling service. This should make the service easier for residents to use.

Assisted collections
An assisted collection means that our collection crew will come in to your front garden to collect your green recycling box, green organic bin, bio-sacks or grey refuse bin, empty them and then return them to your front garden.

Assisted collections are available to residents that are usually elderly or have a disability.

Thank you for recycling
