The green box is our doorstep recycling collection service and it is compulsory to use the green box if you have access to the service.
How to use the service
Leave your green box out before 7am on the day of your collection in an easy to see and reach place from the public road, preferably on the edge of your property.

Please do not put your green box on the public highway as another member of the public may drop litter in it and contaminate all your hard recycling work.
Printing your door number clearly on your green box with some old paint or Tippex can reduce the chance of your green recycling box going missing.
We will empty your green box every week on your day of collection, provided you leave the box out before 7am in a place which is easy to see and reach from the public road, preferably on the edge of your property.

Paper such as newspapers magazines and telephone directories. | You can help by:

Glass including green, brown and clear glass bottles and jars | You can help by washing your jars and removing the caps and lids.
Please dispose of your caps and lids in your grey rubbish bin. |
Metals including food and drink cans, aerosol cans, aluminium foil | You can help by:

Plastic bottles | Please rinse and flatten your plastic bottles before putting them in your green recycling box.
Put your bottle tops in the gray rubbish bin and remove lables.
You can help by just putting the following bottles in your green recycling box:

Textiles and clothes | Please put these in a plastic bag to help protect from the weather.
Please note we do not accept sleeping bags, duvets, pillows or cushions. |
Shoes | Please tie shoes together in pairs. |
Batteries | We can take car batteries, household batteries.
Please put these in a clear plastic bag. |
Engine oil | We can take used or unwanted engine oil.
Please ensure container lid is tightly closed. |
Currently we do not accept cartons in our green boxes, however they can be recycled by taking them to the recycling sites.
