How to apply to view CCTV images
You can only apply for access to information held on CCTV if an investigation, prosecution or action to prevent a crime is taking place under the Police Criminal Evidence Act criteria.
Under the Data Protection Act 1998 access requests can be made by members of the public in relation to civil cases and unreported accidents. Simply download the online form and return it to us. In addition to your completed form you will also need to supply: We will then either send you a copy of the relevant images or invite you to come and view an edited version in the CCTV Control Room. We will remove anything from the recording which is not connected to the enquiry, such as vehicle registration numbers or innocent bystanders. Please note, your request must be made in writing and should be in enough detail to allow us to find out whether or not we have the images.
