Protective Parking Scheme for Event Days at Wembley Stadium

parking permits handbookThe Wembley Stadium Event Day Protective Parking Scheme is operated by Brent Council within the Wembley Stadium Event Day Zone (map) and is operational on all major event days at Wembley Stadium.

Under the scheme only residents and businesses with the Wembley Stadium Event Day Zone are able to apply for special permits which allow them to park on roads within the Zone on major event days at Wembley Stadium.

From 1 June 2008 minor changes have been made to the scheme and parking restrictions will now apply throughout the Zone in residential areas from 10am until midnight and on main strategic roads from 8am until midnight. Some bus lanes and existing controlled parking zones within Wembley and Wembley Central will also have restrictions which start earlier.

These restrictions are rigorously enforced to ensure the area remains congestion free during events and minimum disruption is caused to the local community. Anyone parking illegally within the Event Day Zone will get a parking ticket and may have their vehicle removed.

Anyone who lives or has business premises within the Zone can apply for special event day permits, which allow them and their visitors to park anywhere within the whole zone on an event day. Any new residents within the Zone can also apply for permits by completing an application form and providing the necessary fee and proofs of residency and car ownership.
Please call Brent Council's Event Day Protective Parking Permit Information Line on 020 8937 5445 (Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm) or email eventday@brent.gov.uk for further information.

Face to face customer service
A walk-in service is also available Monday – Friday 8am to 6.30pm at the council’s parking shop on Church Lane, Kingsbury. Those applying in person here with correctly completed forms and the right proofs of residency/or business address and vehicle ownership may be able to wait and collect their permits the same day. All permits are charged at £10 each and are valid until either the residential or business address or the vehicle is changed.

Protective Parking Scheme
The Protective Parking Scheme for Event Days at Wembley Stadium is operational during major event days at Wembley Stadium and is designed to minimise disruption and protect local residents and businesses from illegal parking from visitors to the new Wembley Stadium.

Under the Scheme, only eligible residents, their visitors and local businesses would be able to hold Event Day Permits, allowing them to park in the roads in the Event Day Zone when major sporting or music events are held at the new Stadium. This means any visitors driving to events at Wembley Stadium without a pre-booked parking space, will not be able to park in the surrounding streets.

Brent Council has introduced the Protective Parking Scheme for event days at Wembley Stadium following extensive and widespread consultation during 2004 and 2005 with residents and businesses in the Wembley area.

Changes to the scheme from 1 June 2008
Following a review of the scheme and feedback from local residents and businesses, at its meeting held on 22 January 2008, Brent Council’s Highways Committee has approved minor changes to the scheme and some improvements, which will further help minimise disruption to residents and businesses on event days at Wembley Stadium.

The committee approved the following changes, which have come into effect from 1 June 2008 and involved changing over some 3,000 road signs and other signage within the Event Day Zone.
