Maintaining our meadows
The council manages a number of meadows across the borough, which need to be cut annually to ensure that biodiversity increases year after year. We have now commenced the maintenance programme and the first location, Neasden Recreation Ground, has started to be cut already.
When the meadow is cut, approximately ten percent will be left in every park to provide a habitat for wildlife over the winter. From next spring, the meadows will start to grow again and many will have the addition of wildflowers which will be sown next year, providing additional colour and food for insects and wildlife.
Please note - We do not allow BBQs in our parks. This includes disposable or portable BBQs and open fires and there are no exceptions to this.
