Free health checks
Man Van is coming to Brent, to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
A mobile unit that will offer free, confidential health advice and prostate cancer risk checking with a specialist team, will be outside Bridge Park leisure centre from October – November 2023.
If you are a man over the age of 45, we invite you to a free health check with a focus on prostate cancer. This will include a PSA blood and urine test only, a rectal examination will not be required.
The health check may also help identify other health concerns not related to prostate cancer, such as hypertension (high blood pressure).
Do I have to check for prostate cancer?
1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. If you are of Black heritage, or a close family member has ever been diagnosed with breast, ovarian or prostate cancer, then you could be more at risk. This is an optional service, but remember, early diagnosis saves lives.
What is a PSA test?
A simple blood test can help detect prostate cancer, even if you don’t have symptoms.
Can I just turn up?
No, we operate an appointments based system only. Book early to avoid disappointment. Once you book, a member of the team will contact you to offer you an appointment. Available Mondays- Wednesdays, and some weekends.
