Kilburn town centre is a place people go to socialise - supported by great transport links including the Night Tube. This gives the area a busy entertainment scene by day and night, bringing business opportunities in an area of relatively low rents and rates.

Kilburn is known for its pubs and bars - favourite watering holes including the North London Tavern, the Earl of Derby and the historic Black Lion. There’s also a broad selection of restaurants serving food to suit all tastes, from Burmese to Persian, Filipino and Turkish. There’s plenty of scope for more food and drink outlets to join these - particularly at the higher quality end of the market.

The Kiln Theatre - previously called The Tricycle - has been a well-known arts venue on Kilburn High Road for decades. It’s one of London’s best-loved theatres, bringing hundreds of visitors every day to the town centre’s restaurants, shops and bars. The venue has just undergone a multi-million-pound refit to increase its capacity to meet demand.

The town is well-known for its heritage of hosting bands and musicians. David Bowie, Nirvana, Jonny Cash, Ian Dury, New Order, Nick Cave, The Cure and The Smiths - as well as many other established and emerging artists - have played in Kilburn. There’s still a strong appetite for music venues and events, and a major music festival is planned as part of Brent’s Borough of Culture activities in 2020.

Alongside well-known chains, there’s a wealth of independent shops, with scope for more.

And just south of the town centre, a 15-year regeneration programme is under way - an ambitious programme to create a civic hub with a thriving, sustainable neighbourhood of at least 2,400 new homes.

This brings the promise of even more footfall and demand for food, drink, leisure and retail outlets in Kilburn town centre
